So. Um, yeah. I, like most of Tumblr and DA, have finally succumbed to the Rise of the Guardians fanbug, despite the fact that I don’t celebrate Christmas or Easter and haven’t even been able to see the actual movie yet. I just find the reinterpretation of the different childhood figures - along with their various origin stories of both themselves and their universe as told in both the books and movie - incredibly fascinating, for the most part, and anyone who knows me well will know that team/family dynamics is a huuuuge weakness of mine.

I love how perfectly all the characters interact off of each other in the clips I’ve seen, and this isn’t even mentioning the gorgeous, gorgeous animation, which I so wanted to see in all its glory on the big screen, ohlifeWHYmustyouconspireagainstme?!

So, to compensate for the lack of movie theater experiences currently in my life, I’ve been binging on fanfic, fanart, and eavesdropping on fan theories and speculation on Tumblr for the past couple of weeks. During that time, I came across the above fic, “Invisible,” as well as some other superbly written fics and fanart, which gave me urge to draw some fanart of my own. More might be forthcoming in the future; we’ll see how it goes.

BTW, Jack Frost and the Sandman are my new brOTP.

They don’t get to interact much in the movie, but the moments and scenes they have together seem to strongly imply that they’ve met in the past, and that Sandy was probably one of the only beings that was ever there for Jack in any way, shape, or form for 300 years. I just find that idea and their relationship so adorable, and I wish it was developed more in the movie. But oh well, that’s what fanfic is for. 83

Now, moving on to the pic itself, this is probably the most time I have spent on a background in a long while. The dreamsand alone took at least a couple hours. I’m pleased with it overall, though. ^-^
Jack, Jack, Jack, why are you so hard to draw?

Can’t you just have a nice, reasonable hairstyle and hair color like everyone else? And don’t get me started on how long it took to do his hands or clothes. >_> Rather embarrassing, actually.
I think he might be a little too small here, but I like the way Sandy turned out best. ^w^ It was fun doing his hair.

I'm not very involved with the ROTG fandom, but I do have a soft spot him, he such a cutie ~

Although I haven't tried yet, I have to agree about how hard Jack's hair would be to draw since it's very similar to England's style and I've had it 'bout to here trying to get that boy's bedhead right! But don't worry about how he turned out because he looks great, as well as your sand swirls

Those look like they were the most fun

(at least I'd have fun with them, lol, probably too much fun...*would present new deviation of nothing but dreamsand swirls* "What's this?" "A picture of my fav characters from ROTG! :3" "But...where are they?" "In there. Behind...all the...sand..." )
